All throughout the year, there is plenty to experience on Maui. Before you book a west Maui condo, consider these guidelines for planning the best vacation possible.
If you will go whale watching in Maui, the winter is the best season. Whale watching season is from mid-December to mid-May, and peak season for seeing whales in the wild is February and March. However, keep in mind that if you’re traveling to see whales, you may not be able to do other water activities that disturb the migrating creatures.
Surfers will find the biggest swells during the winter, and hikers will enjoy the summer conditions better because of the lower likelihood of rain. If you’re planning on driving the Road to Hana, pay attention to the weather and consider times of the year with less rain so you can enjoy all the stops.
While many people travel to Maui during the winter to escape the cold, the off-season is traditionally the best time to visit. April to mid-June and September to mid-December offers the best weather conditions, the best rates for accommodations and the crowds are smaller. Summer is also a big time for traveling, especially for families going on vacation when the kids are out of school. Summer isn’t peak traveling season to Maui so you’ll still find some great deals.
Maui has great weather year-round, and conditions generally stay the same. Temperatures average in the 70s and 80s all year. During Maui’s winter season, temperatures are just a few degrees colder and you’ll also have to deal with some more rain. From April to October, the weather is a bit hotter and more humid.
