 History of Chase 'N Rainbows 

Chase ‘N Rainbows was established in 1979 by Kay E. Chase and her husband Web Chase. The two of them vacationed to the island of Maui in 1975 and fell in love with Hawai’i. Soon after they vowed to move to Maui on New Year’s in 1976 and become permanent island residents on Dec 29, 1977. In early 1979, Kay and Web started their real estate brokerage, Chase ‘N Rainbows Inc., and through the corporation started a vacation rental business for those people who purchased condominiums and had no one to help rent them. 

Not long after, their son Jeff moved to Maui from Santa Barbara, CA in 1979 to help with the vacation rental and cleaning company. Web, Jeff’s father, had started a separate cleaning business that serviced the vacation rentals that Kay had under management. It was several years later when Kay hired Mindy as her executive assistant-reservationist soon after arriving on island in 1985 from Bellevue, WA. Mindy grew up visiting her grandmother in Lahaina as a young girl and hoped that one day she would call this special place home. Three years later, Jeff and Mindy Miller married and had two beautiful children, Carly and Cody.

Jeff and Mindy decided to carry on the legacy and purchased both companies, Chase ‘N Rainbows and Trinity Maid Company (cleaning company) from Kay and Web in 1994. Jeff and Mindy started with a small inventory of condos which they cleaned and booked on their own, while working in restaurants part-time at night and slowly adding inventory and dedicated employees one by one.  Kay and Web later retired and moved to Sun City, AZ, in 1998.

Since then, Chase ‘N Rainbows has grown tremendously as a Maui-based company, maintaining its vacation rental management operation as well as its commercial laundry entity, Trinity Maid Company. We feature approximately 186 condos representing 30 resort properties, all located in West Maui.

In 2012, Jeff was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease and has since retired. As a family, we are on a long journey to honor Jeff’s legacy and his love for Maui. However special consideration was given to his health care and a decision was made to sell both entities. The timing was right for us to search for a company who shared the same core values, and we found it in Castle Vacation Rentals Hawaii, a division of Castle Hospitality Group.  The acquisition was completed in the fall of 2019, with Mindy and Carly still involved in the daily operations.
