Maui is home to some of the world’s most beautiful nature, and some of the most epic waterfalls that you find from the side of the road or on a hiking adventure. The Road to Hana will lead you to stunning spots, like Upper Waikani Falls, among many others. Waterfalls in Maui are magical whether you’re taking in the sights from afar or swimming below the cascading water. If you’re planning an outdoor adventure trip, these best waterfalls in Maui cannot be missed.

Honokohau Falls

Honokohau Falls is thought to be the tallest waterfall on Maui, with its water falling about 1,100 feet. This stunning waterfall is tucked deep within the West Maui Mountains. The best way to see this waterfall is on a helicopter tour. Honokohau Falls is largely known for its appearance in the “Jurassic Park” movie. The two-tiered waterfall sits along the edge of a forested mountainside in Haleakala National Park.

Makamaka’ole Falls

A 1/2-mile accessible hike leads you to Makamaka’ole Falls and offers beautiful views of the ocean and the tropical forest along the way. Once you arrive at the waterfall, you’ll find a few swimming holes to take a dip. While the hike is not overly challenging, the trail is known to be overgrown with grass.
