Royal Kā‘anapali Golf Course

The Royal Kāʻanapali Course is a Par 71 that stretches to 6700 yards from the championship tees.  The course was opened in 1962 and is one of only two Robert Trent Jones Sr designed courses in all of Hawaii.  The signature hole is the beautiful 5th that takes you directly down to Kāʻanapali and Black Rock Beach. (You will be so close to the ocean you can go swimming!)

Robert Trent Jones Sr took advantage of the rolling landscape to create gently sloping fairways and large contoured greens to ensure a challenging approach to each hole. You will have views of the two neighboring islands (Molokai and Lanai) from almost every hole on the course.

The Royal Kāʻanapali Course begins at sea level with a par 5 hole extending 550 yards. The course hugs the shoreline before winding its way to the West Maui Mountain foothills. Legendary Arnold Palmer was quoted as saying that the 18th hole was one of the best and most challenging finishing holes he had ever played. The 449 yard hole plays longer than it looks, hugging the brackish water canal the entire length of the fairway and green, making it a memorable last hole. A local tip that will be sure to aid you while playing this difficult par 4 is that all the putts on this green break towards the island of Lanai.
