Anniversary getaway

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Hale Mahina condo. It’s a wonderful location and the grounds are well kept up by Larry the caretaker. It’s nicely located to Lahaina and local shopping mall and food carts. It’s also an easy walk to the local Bad *** coffee shop. We enjoyed breakfast on our patio every morning and watching the turtles come right up on the beach. It’s a comfortable place to swim. The condo was well stocked except for the kitchen which could have used basic spices, oil, Pam etc to cook with. The property manager was quick to email us back with answers to our questions and provided extra fans to keep us cool. We enjoyed driving to Hana, snorkeling in Turtle town and Molekini and a luau. We also went to Black rock and snorkeled with the turtles and fish. We definitely had a wonderful time and definitely will be back in the future.

Nice condo with a great view

Condo was very spacious and had a great view from the balcony. Kitchen was well-stocked and furniture/beds were comfortable. Even though there is no AC in the unit, there are lots of fans along with the ocean breeze. Property manager was very easy to work with. The location of the condos on the west side of Maui are perfect for enjoying views of whales and turtles, and the private beach is wonderful. Highly recommend this condo.

We've been staying in this unit for decades. Unit is in good condition with new kitchen and upstairs flooring. The couch, chair and throw rug are many years past due for replacement. Felt damp and creepy sitting on the couch and chair.

Look no further!

Very pleased with the condo. Couple minor suggestions. Downstairs bathroom door sticks and downstairs bedroom closet door off the slider. All minor. Thick layer of dust under the upstairs bed. Otherwise clean and in good working order. Would rent again. My 4th stay at Hale Mahina. Location is perfect and nice beach. Grounds are immaculate and well kept. The manager Larry is great.

Great Condo with super location.

Loved the condo and Hale Mahina! The view is absolutely breathtaking and we loved being so close to the beach. We would stay here again despite the condo being absolutely filthy when we arrived. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. The floors were not cleaned. The management company did send someone to start the dishwasher but they never did come and do any cleaning as promised. It is affordable so if you don’t mind wiping things down and doing your own cleaning when you arrive I would still book it. If you need a spotless clean condo on arrival I would still stay at Hale Mahina but rent from someone else.

Larry the manager is amazing! The condo which we stayed was ok. It has a lot of potential, but needs maintenance. Dishwasher did not work. Dead gecko under glass in bedroom. Bathroom light had electrical problem did not work. Dirty, no good deep cleaning. No smoke detectors. Holes in the beach towel rentals. List could go on. I would stay at the condominium again, but not this specific until. Needs work.

The actually process of renting the unit was very easy and chasin rainbows was very easy to work with. The unit itself is dated. The kitchen update is nice, but the furniture throughout is dated and worn. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms are also dated with cabinets aged. There were always very tiny flying ant like bugs on both bathroom sinks. We left no make up or any food out for them- they were there the day we arrived and stayed the entire time. I killed then when I saw them.
The carpet on the stairs and bedroom has stains on it as well.
Having said all of this- this condo was fine for us. We do not need a fancy renovated place that will cost us more as we are not those kind of people and are gone during the day. So it did meet our needs.
A couple of strong recommendations would be to stock the kitchen better. There are only 4 settings of plates, bowls and forks so you are having to wash things during a meal if using them to serve something. Also, the kitchen sink does not drain unless you turn on the very slow disposal. We did not put anything down the disposal other than rinsing off plates and this was a problem the day we arrived. Also, please clean the ceiling fans- those are covered is dust and that is gross. All else was adequate for our stay.
I have not been to Hawaii for 34 years and my husband has never so we did not know what to expect. We love the location, beach- all outside was maintained to perfection! We do not know what a newer comparable condo would cost- so I cannot comment on that. But overall we were satisfied- just need better cleaning service. Also we thought the cleaning service was supposed to come once during our week and they never did- I thought that was part of our paid contract. So if the owners are paying for that they are not getting it. And the cleaning service is definitely not doing a great job.
Go in and look at the ceiling fans for yourself- they need cleaning.

Beautiful condo and great company

First, Chase N Rainbows was a dream to work with. From finding me a great place to accommodating requests and then personally helping when needed. And they keep the property in great shape. The unit itself is unbelievable. ON THE BEACH with full ocean view and turtles coming up daily. It's a spacious one bedroom with two baths, and the complex is kept up very nicely. It's close to Kaanapali and has nearby food and grocery options. Stay here. You'll love it.

Our Choice for Maui

We prefer a nice, quiet place to enjoy our time in Maui. This has been it twice now. It is just lovely.My only discomfort was the heat. We were well aware that the unit has no AC, but it was fairly impacting. I couldn't sleep in the loft at all, but managed on the couch. We had all doors and windows open, and all fans running. Perhaps it's just my low tolerance, but I feel it should be mentioned.

Great Vacation!

We stayed at this location starting on Thanksgiving Day and were scheduled for 1 week. I have traveled to Maui 10 times and I can say I truly enjoyed this location and will stay here again! We had our teens and another friend, and the 2 BR unit, with 2 bath was perfect! The view is breathtaking and the beach is really nice! We ended up renting paddle boards for the week and Larry, the manager, was more than helpful offering us a place to store them. Larry and his SO (sorry, I forgot her name) take excellent care of the grounds and are extremely friendly! They are very hands on and make sure the grills are clean and I saw him cleaning the pool and hot tub every day! The condo was really nice and not having AC was not an issue at all. They did provide 2 fans, in addition to the ceiling fans, so we were very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and there were boogie boards to use. 1 was fine, 2 kids ones are broken, but they were fine for floating. The snorkeling is AMAZING out front and there were turtles present every day. We did see a whale blow air 1 day, but we were a little early for them. The stores and places to eat are plentiful and we really enjoyed going to the fresh fruit/veggie market down the street. Java Jazz is a fun place for live music, drinks and food. The only minor negative I can even speak of is the 2nd floor bathroom fan was loud, but it was not enough of an issue for me to call about it. I do want to thank Chase 'N Rainbows for being so helpful on extending our stay. Through a series of issues with another rental, we ended up staying a few more days at this location and this was made very easy by the staff of Chase 'N Rainbows! This is the 2nd year in a row we have rented with this group and we were very happy with everything!
