Great oceanfront view

We stayed 23 nights in unit 102. It had some upgrades that were very old. Dishes and utensils were clean, grounds were beautiful and well maintained. There were a few problems the bathroom towel rack not attached to the wall, the sliding door drape is very dirty, broken glass window louver is missing, screen door has holes and needs replacing. Most importantly the close dryer vents directly into the unit. This is a violation of the fire and health codes and potentially harmful for those with compromised lungs. It is impossible to keep this condo dusted when each time the dryer is used it pumps dust and lint into the unit.

Great location and enjoyed the stay. The unit needed cleaning, and some minor up keep such as towel racks in the bathroom, and about half of the light bulbs needed to be replaced.

The unit location is what we needed, 1st floor condo , steps from the beach. We have our own small beach, no need to drive elsewhere if you just want to relax and wait for sunset.
The unit is 1 bed 1 bath with sofa sleeper in the living room. When we arrived we were instructed to register our car, no one was in front office, I also called them, no one ever returned the call.
When we arrived, some dishes were not clean or were kept on the drawers that were still dirty. The floors were dirty, the electric fan in the bedroom was not working. I called their number, left a VM, no one called back. I called next business day, I was told someone will fix/ replace the fan, but it never happened.
Unit may need some TLC with paints and minor renovations for update as well.
Other than that, if you are looking for beachfront condo, this is it! We bbq for dinner most of the time and my daughter loved being on the beach until sunset.

Recommend months when beach is available (not in February). Great beach area and snorkeling this June and turtles are a bonus! Lovely view and horns at sunset. We love it because it is on the ground floor and easy access to BBQ grills and swimming.
The door and screen to the lanai are worn out. The lanai outdoor carpet needs replacing. Sofa bed is sunken in the middle. Bedroom bed is fine.

Great location, lots of turtles!!

Loved this property... the pictures are a little deceiving because there is not a sand beach but if it’s low tide you can walk down to the other park beach or walk the beaches in the morning. There are tons of turtles every day!!! The condo is very basic, but has what you need, could use a little TLC. Great walking distance to some local restaurants and coffee. We rented a paddle board and used it right out front of the property. Very quiet location away from all the “touristy “ stuff.

Makani Sands 102 was perfect for us. We were sad the ocean access/stairs were closed but that turned out to be a minimal inconvenience. The property was clean and comfortable (some minor wear and tear, but had everything we needed/wanted) and the location and view were wonderful. Necessities were easy to find nearby, and we loved watching turtles out front (and spotted some whales and dolphins too). Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends/family. Chase 'N Rainbows was also great to deal with as usual (especially given that we had to re-book a couple of times due to travel restrictions).

A little piece of paradise at your back door

The condo was great especially for the price point. We had friends that stayed more towards the resort area which was about 7-9 minute away and paid double our cost and it was not as nice. Only con was no air conditioning however it was not unbearable. Condo management made sure there were lots of fans. I’m a Texas girl and always have the air conditioner on but somehow with the wind tunnel in the apt worked. So please don’t let the no AC steer you away. Grounds were kept very clean as well as the condo. Check in person was super nice. I would recommend this space!

Clean and convenient space with kitchen, laundry, and easy access to the water. It can be a bit hot without A/C and would be nice to have a few basic cooking supplies but there are grocery stores nearby!

This condo was perfect for our Maui vacation. We will definitely be coming back and staying again and again

This condo is perfect if you want to walk out to your own beach without the crowds, if you want to see sea turtles EVERY day while also seeing whales and dolphins (perfect for snorkeling), if you want amazing views of Molokai and have great local food walking distance. It was very clean and had all the kitchen equipment you will need to cook meals. I will definitely be staying here again in the future

We have stayed at Makani Sands before and really like it. The unit 102 was very nice. If we had questions , Chase n Rainbows always responded quickly and politely. The on site management is also very nice and helpful. We had a nice time!

Ideal location for swimming in the ocean without crowds

This place was an ideal location for swimming in the ocean without the crowds while also swimming next to sea turtles. My children ages 15 & 13 plus myself loved the space. Coffee on the patio in the mornings to watch the sunset, see rainbows and hear the water crashing was just perfect. Would recommend this rental for anyone staying in Maui
